Surfspotter is committed to providing a safe marketplace experience for both buyers and sellers. This page outlines our protection policies for transactions on Ding Market (surfboards), Shutter Market (photography gear), and Rubber Room (wetsuits).
Protection applies when: All transactions are completed through the Surfspotter platform using our secure payment system. Transactions conducted outside the platform are not covered.
Item Not Received
Full refund if your item doesn't arrive within 30 days of the expected delivery date. Seller must provide valid tracking information.
Significantly Not As Described
Full refund if the item is materially different from the listing. This includes: wrong item sent, major undisclosed damage, missing parts, or counterfeit items.
Damaged During Shipping
Coverage for items damaged in transit when the seller used tracked shipping and appropriate packaging.

Guaranteed Payment
Payment is secured before you ship. Funds are held in escrow and released after the buyer confirms receipt or the protection period ends.
Proof of Delivery Protection
Valid tracking showing delivery protects you against "item not received" claims. Always use tracked shipping with signature confirmation for high-value items.
Fair Dispute Investigation
We investigate all disputes impartially. Clear photos and honest descriptions in your listing protect you from "not as described" claims.

Contact the other party through our messaging system. Most issues can be resolved directly between buyer and seller. You have 48 hours to attempt resolution.
If direct communication fails, open a dispute from your order page. Select the reason and provide details about the issue.
Both parties submit evidence: photos, screenshots of messages, tracking information, and any other relevant documentation.
Our team reviews all evidence impartially. We may request additional information from either party during this process.
We issue a binding decision within 5 business days. Possible outcomes include: full refund to buyer, partial refund, or funds released to seller.
